well, i live in Redondo Beach and i would recommend the cheesecake factory. its at 605 North Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. i think it depends where you sit but when the sun sets it's really pretty and i think it would be romantic :]

Well ... exactly how much are you thinking of spending? (or willing to?)

These French restaurants have great food and a nice, quiet, romantic atmosphere, great service:

Providence (on Melrose)

Ortolan (on 3rd St)

Sona

Melisse (might be the most expensive? not too sure ..)

These restaurants are more reasonably priced and still have a nice ambiance (by 'romantic' I include "quiet") and great food:

Little Door

La Terza

oh and you know, there's always Spago.

If you've got a little extra $ to spend, I'd recommend Houston's (it's dark in there and the seats are cushiony) in Houston's in Manhattan Beach.  Food Show (also in MB) will make up for in taste what it may lack in romantic ambience.
