with Warner's backing of Blu-ray, hd-dvd's fate has been sealed.

the is the first time Sony has won the format war. Long live BluRay!!!

everyone acts like they're both the same. They're not, bluray is MUCh better for pc storage

Why do blu ray fan bois have such an emotional attachment to a method of storing and playing back movies.  I don't get it?

Thank God and good riddance. Now all we need is Universal to follow suite soon and end this stupid format war. I wanna watch the Bourne trilogy on Blu Ray so d**n bad.

Warner Bros. Studios put it best:

“A two-format landscape has led to consumer confusion and indifference toward high definition, which has kept the technology from reaching mass adoption and becoming the important revenue stream that it can be for the industry.”

It doesn't matter who won.  Both formats were better than DVD, but only ONE could continue or eventually NONE could.  Blu-ray is the future whether we like it or not.
