It's proven that a sword can block a bullet, has anyone ever done it before though?

  1. Depends on the sword and on the bullet. There are bullets that can go through 1/4 inch steel.

    Where is this "total proof"?

    If you are talking about the videos, that's a 9mm bullet, a small one. And it didn't block it, it split it.

    And the other video showed a 50 cal machine gun, and it chewed up the sword.

  3. If it has been proven, then I would think it has been done before.  I wouldn't call it a good way to block a bullet though.  If a sword does block a bullet in some fighting scene, it would be from dumb luck, and not skill.  Human reflexes are not that good.  

    And it would also depend on the bullet.  9mm lead slug, sword can do the job.  A full metal jacket on the other hand, you may want a stronger sword.
