back in 1965 delivering beer for 7 yrs. They were given profit sharing in mutual funds which he forgot about. They had his social security number wrong and just notified us to prove who he is. They excepted it so now we have to send in a notarized claim and they will send him his 100 shares. We don't know what it is worth? Or even if it's worth much.?!?! Does anyone understand mutual funds or profit sharing?

Without knowing 100 shares of "what" , you can't know what the "what" is  worth.  It sounds like it could be shares of stock in the brewing company.  If the brewing company is publicly traded on one of the stock exchanges, you can look up the value of the 100 shares.
