The rain has really been pounding on us. When will it end? Has there been this much rain in the past? I think our weather pattern is being affected by so many things including pollution.

  1. Like I said in your other question that repeats this one, this is normal California weather. As far as pollutants in the air. When I was in Jr.High back in the late seventies, you could actually see the air you breathed.the sky was brown and we werent allowed to run track etc.You couldn't even see the mountains 10 miles away. Its (the pollution ) is a lot better and the air is cleaner than it ever was there in California.

  2. I thought this time of year for California, was the rainy season.

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain.  California has been drought stricken for how many years now?  First none and then WOW!

Real bad timing with the rain.  You could have used it during the fires.

Past three years where I live (Wisconsin) Great Lakes Region, we've needed rain.  Between lack of snow and not enough rain, the shore line on the lake we live on is now mud.

We finally got the snow this year, but probably still doesn't make up the difference, except for maybe the snowmobile's. Hope we get your rain come Spring/Summer/Fall.

I agree with you regarding weather pattern's.  Who could help not noticing the changes taking place as we speak.  You're right again about it's not only pollution. We can't keep cutting down the trees without negative out comes.  If you think you're looking at the mountains, take a second look.  You're looking at all our land fills, which are taking over those beautiful scenic drives.

That's just the tip of the ice burg, if there are going to be any left in the not so distant future.

  3. When I lived in Southern California in the 1970's, we had one winter when it rained everyday for nearly 3 weeks. I worked construction and it was so muddy that we still couldn't work for another week after the rain stopped. However, I do believe that we are undergoing climatic changes largely due to the amount of pollutants in the atmosphere.

  4. It's normal.   Rainy season is ussually around Febuary.  Bad years would last from January to march.    Our rain pattern fluctuates.    1970's was one of the worse.  It stripped our beaches and flooded our city.   There were far worse historical floods, which is why we converted the LA river into one big storm drain.  I think the floods of the 30's was what gave us the incentive.
