  1. In this sentence on ly the verb "I like" would be conjugated.  The others are infinitives- to play, to listen, to write...

Me gusta tocar la guitarra, ecuchar musica, y escribir...

If you were saying that I do three things- such as I run, walk, and read- then yes, they would all be conjugated.

    Yo corro, camino, y leo.

In your sentence the only action is the liking of 3 things.  In my sentence there are 3 actions taking place.

  2. It depends.

John went to the bank then he is coming here.

Juan fui al banco entonces yendo aqui.

If the verb tense changes, you may conjugate the verb.

However, if you say "John enjoys reading, writing, and listening to music"

John le GUSTA leer, escribir, y escuchar a la musica.

Like is a verb where you don't conjugate the next verbs following.

  3. No, only conjugate the active verb (i.e. the one being done by the subject)  Your example is: Me gusta (conjugated, literally meaning "It pleases me to) tocar (infinitive, as the subject is not actually performing it) la guitarra, eschuar (infinitive, same reason) la música, y escribir (again, infinitive for the same reason.)

Me gusta tocar la guitarra, eschuar la música, y escribir.

I'm not fluent in Spanish, but I can speak a little, and I'm very good at Romance grammar, which Spanish falls under, so I'm a fairly reliable source, I know Italian and French proficiently.

  4. Yes, you do.
