To make things simple, all you have to do is put the number of the pitcher beside the inning.

( Note: I did not add Paplebon because he has not pitched long enough. Take no offense. We all know he's a stud )

  1. Well I think it all depends on the batting lineup. If you got 2 lefties up top, then I would start Johnson (Randy) but if it's all righties, then probably Pedro Martinez.

    1. Pedro Martinez (He is in my opinion the most dominate pitcher in baseball at his prime. He held batters in the steroid era to a .167 BAA for a whole season. Most relievers can't even do that. And didn't he strike out like 5 batters in a row to begin a ASG? Not sure the year)

    2. Greg Maddux (After seeing that vicious stuff from Pedro, change it up here with more of a finesse guy)

    3. Randy Johnson (Again, not sure who is hitting but I'm gonna bring the heat up again)

    4. Walter Johnson (Have to use Walter. Incredible stats)

    5. Sandy Koufax (Switching the side again. Plus Koufax was so diminant when he was healthy)

    6. Bob Gibson (I don't want to go into the relievers just yet because these starters are so good)

    7. Billy Wagner (Again, change the arm here. I want to keep these hitters off balance)

    8. Trevor Hoffman (After seeing a lefty power arm, gonna change it up here, literally)

    9. Mariano Rivera (I mean who else can I have here?)

EDIT-Froggy you dont mean the 6 innings of perfect relief he did in the 1999 ALDS right?

  2. inning

1 Bob Gibson -  probably nastiest stuff ever

    2

3  maddux   best control ever.  in his prime era under 2.00 and he never threw over 90mph.  alsoin the steroid era

    4

5 Randy johnson  nastiest of our generation

    6 koufax

    7 eckersley

    8 riveria

    9 lee smith

i'd save johnson in case of an  extra inning marathon.

pedro not a a best ever list??  over nolan ryan?  pedro has been a bust in new york.  what did he evr do in the post season when it matters?   I'd even take john smoltz over pedro

Billy wagner, john franco??  no goose gossage or bruce sutter??    you are right paplebon does not belong on the list yet.  closers  tend to flame out after 4 years

its a little balanced but just on paper that seems fair. i mean with the relievers it would depend more on the order and who has a specialty against a certain batter, but for Ss&Gs this is what i got
