It Was Me tipped to win Grant´s Cherry Brandy South East Novices´ Hunters´ Chase
It Was Me has the best chances of winning the Grant´s Cherry Brandy South East Novices´ Hunters´ Chase at Folkestone in England on Thursday, May 17, 2012. The triumphant horse will be awarded a cash prize of £1,317 in the end.
The going will be good in the 2 mile 5 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 18:15 GMT. A total of 10 runners have lined up for action and their names are as follows: It Was Me, Calusa Shadow, Macdougal, Galbally King, Tenawa, Time Is Tickin, Top
Choice, Mr Maybe, Dunegan Castle and Coka.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Macdougal might not take part in the race. No final decision has been take regarding his participation, but his trainer will make the confirmation before the start of the event.
Although It Was Me does not have a lot of experience, the bookies have shown full faith in his abilities. He is in perfect shape at the moment, thus the bettors are also expected to risk the maximum number of bets in his favour.
The seven-year-old gelding has participated in one chase race until now and managed to win it comprehensively by seven lengths. He was not rated as favourite back then, but still surprised one and all with his speed and stamina. He looked strong right from
the start and continued building lead as the finish line approached.
If It Was Me gets a clear run today, it will be difficult for his opponents to stop him from winning the race. He will be partnered by Miss Carey Williamson, who is relatively new to the sport and has won just one race while chasing. She is a promising rider
and can definitely become one of the best in the business.
Calusa Shadow, trained by Miss Sally Duckett, might also manage to attract some bets in his favour, as he is a decent performer. He has entered 10 events until now, but has been unable to win even once.
However, the eight-year-old gelding has secured four third place finishes, which shows that he has the potential of winning races as well. He will be partnered by young jockey, Mr J. D. Moore.
