  1. Your machine got infected. It may be a virus or a worm.

    Here's how to remove it.

    1.) Do a fresh reboot.

    2.) Update your anti-virus.

3.) Scan your computer using the updated anti-virus.

    my tested experience.

    1.) I downloaded Avast Anti-Virus Home Edition.

2.) I registered on their site and I got a free license key.

3.) I updated the virus definition.

4.) I opened Avast Home edition and went on to settings and I do check for a "scheduled boot scan".

5.) I rebooted my PC and when the blue screen appeared, it then automatically scanned my machine before it open Windows XP.

scanning your machine before running XP is more effective.

  2. Mom is a known key logger you need to delete it I FOUND THE PROBLEM WITH ATI graphics cards... and guess what... I fixed it.

OK, you guys will love this one (ATI users) when you install the latest drivers for ATI= Catalyst Control Center, a spy ware named MOM.exe, which is a surveillance one (means that it takes pictures of what are you doing on your PC) so not only do we all have a lawsuit on our hands.... the way for solving it is simple... Go here on your PC " C:Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static ". (for computer noobs, that translates to go to My Computer then go to Program Files then to ATI Technologies, and etc... Then when you get there delete MOM.exe and MOM.Foundation.dll

Well I hope it helps, so that you guys can play

  3. mom.exe is part of your ati drivers.  Somehow they have been corrupted, though not all to uncommon for ati.  Try downloading and installing the lastest microsoft.net framework from here:  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

Then uninstall your current ati video drivers and install the latest ones that pertain to your video card or onboard video from here: http://www.amd.com/us-en/

Sometimes things go bad with the .net framework and ati needs this for its drivers to funtion properly.  Be sure to restart your computer between the uninstall and install steps.
