It costs $10,000 to keep a Chinook helictopter in the air for 1 hour...so what do you think??

...of the two princes using it for personal purposes although it was approved as part of a final test or something, uh huh....anyhow, do you really think that was a "first" or that that kind of thing happens much more frequently?

I was surprised to learn it costs that much to fly!!! Wow.

You only know what you have read in the media and made your own assumptions.  Anything that involves Prince William and Prince Harry always gets blown out of proportion...it's called sensationalism and it sells papers, and gets ratings on the TV.... so always take what you read with a pinch of salt.

All aircraft cost a small fortune to operate.

I seriously doubt that.  The government got audited a few years back, and it was discovered that they paid $500 for a standard hammer.  Do you think they really paid that much?  Of course not.  But it's not like they can just tell everone, "Okay, here's how much of your tax dollars went to expensive dinners, vacations and hookers."  People would rather hear about $500 hammers and $10,000 hour helicopters.

This cannot possibly be right. You can hire a helicopter for far less than that.
