so much potential and now..."this totally goes hand in hand with everything I have learned working with children (I really think that alot of children who are called A.D.D. are simply bored, and cannot believe that they have to sit and listen to this stuff day after day. Anxiety could also be a factor. The so called symptoms of A.D.D seem very akin to those of people with anxiety (I will go further--why is this called a disorder? I suspect that people who suffer from anxiety do so for a reason? Are there theorists I should be aware of who share these thoughts?

I feel ya, but I think that we just live in a societal state where it is easier to give something a medical label so you can administer prescriptions for the symptoms, not the causes.  I suspect that the symptoms are bogus as well in many cases when it comes to gifted kids.  If you are not gifted, you just dont get it...and unfortunately, not getting it causes more anxiety in administrators of education which in turn are projecting that anxiety and frustration on the gifted...sucks....
