It doesnt tell me how to get rid of the stains that seem to be set already!

ive re-washed the garment several times now and the softener will NOT come out. its the same softener i have always used and the garment had been washed several times before this happened! argh

Try soaking the garment in warm water and white vinegar.  Then rub the stained areas with bar soap (not deodorant soap) or with liquid dish detergent such as Dawn.  Rinse thoroughly.

In the future, you may want to forgo the softener and add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the final rinse.  The clothes will come out nice and soft, have no odor and no stains.
