The Anfield legend has expressed delight over his return to the dressing room and was pleased to contribute in Liverpool’s win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
"It's good to be back with the lads, It's been a long time, too long really. It's good to be out there in the kit again and nice to get a win as well,” the Liverpool midfielder added.
The 31-year-old midfielder is confident that he will be able to bounce back from his groin injury and has claimed that he is now aiming to win a place in Kenny Dalglish’s starting eleven.
"It's been a rollercoaster the last six months but it's behind me now and I'm looking forward to getting match fit now and back into the starting lineup,” the 31-year-old concluded.
Steven Gerrard featured for the last fifteen minutes during the midweek League Cup fixture and is expected to be more involved in the upcoming weeks.
