  1. This isn't being said by anyone under 49.

There's some validity to it, since the parents of these-age people/demographics are still around and living longer. Sometimes even grandparents. Mine is 100, and while I'm under 50.. I'm not that far away.. closer to it, than 30!!! (there's a lot of immaturity, too, with 40-somethings today.. and that's because of TV sports, p**n, too.. playing playing playing vid games, and gambling, etc. -- more games than the hard work of generations ago). Couples are having KIDS later.. you see more 30/40-something parents with 4-yr olds than ever before.. especially urban yuppies/professionals. Children also, due to the economy STAY home later.. into their 20s and 30s (the men), and that just didn't happen in the 1950s and prior, unless it was to work the Farm. Marrying later attributes to this -- saving for marriage, too.

This is for White People and yuppies, mostly -- this quote.. because in the inner cities, and more poor whites.. teen pregnancies are EXPLODING.. and by the time they're 50, they're grandparents, quite possibly. Or, at least the grandmother is.. since the bio. fathers would be lost over time.. it's tough to lump USA society like this, but on TV they always have, always will.. because they're SELLING TV SPOTS to people 40-50 yrs and up.. and want them to think happy, keep watching and BUYING those Lexus's, insurance, Yogurt that makes you p**p! and cialis pills, of course.

  2. im not, but this rule was made when madonna turned 50.

  3. well if you smoke for your whole life 50 is the new 80.

  4. I'm 54, and I do feel and look 30-ish. That's because we have good hair dye now, and we dress casually. Ellen Degenerous is a good example.  30 years ago, 50-year old women did not look or dress like Ellen.

    I DO agree!  :)

  5. Actually, it's funny that you ask that because I just turned 32 yesterday. When I was 29, going on 30, I thought I was getting old. But it's all in your head that you're getting old though. To answer your question, they can say that 50 is the new 30.

  6. I'm not yet 50, but some of my most vibrant alive friends are. It's all a matter of attitude and approach to life.

Many are so much freer than they were at 30. In their 30s many people have small kids that wear them out or require a lot of close supervision so as they grow the parents are able to do so much more and they've got the respect of others and experience to not put up with appeasing their elders.
