  1. Some photographers take longer than others to get the pictures to you. My photographer had them to us within a little over a month after the wedding - which was wonderful considering she took over 4,000 pictures. But my friends wedding pictures took about 3 months for her to receive...and she only had about 800. So, it really depends on the photographer.

What kind of package did you buy from them? Did it have a limit on the amount of pictures that they could take? Maybe that is why a lot of pictures were not taken. Did you specify with them beforehand any special pictures you wanted taken?

Just wait and see what happens when you get the pictures. If you aren't happy with them then you can go from there, but I am sure they will be fine.

  2. my son got married last May, it took the photographer 2 months to get the pictures to them, it takes time, I know it feels like forever but they will come, BTW they felt the same way and they had 952 pictures! Congrats!

  3. "Hello, Mr. Photog?  I must tell you I'm getting very concerned about the long wait for my photos. I have many things that are being held up because of this. What day do you expect to have my photos done, and what compromise would you think is appropriate if we have to wait longer?  I really don't want to have to take this matter further."

  4. I got married June 28th, and just got our proofs back.  My husband's cousin put together a photo shop album for us.  So it takes alot of work for the pictures.  We had around 700 pictures taken.

Maybe try calling the photographer and set up an appt. to see the pictures on her computer.  This way you can know what she is doing and if she really took pictures ( I am sure she did).  You probably aren't the only client that they have so be patient.  If she told you this week, just relax until Friday and give her the chance to finish.

  5. I know that it's hard to be patient because you're so anxious to see them.

I got married May 10th and although we've seen our proofs online, we have not received our proof book.  We've also seen our album layout online but it hasn't even been submitted for printing yet.

I had a friend of mine take pictures with my camera.  So for our thank you cards, we chose a picture from my camera.  Everybody has said that they love them.  If you didn't get pics with your own camera, maybe you could ask your friends if they got any good ones.  Otherwise, you could call your photographer and ask for a copy of one that you would like to use.

By the way, we created our thank you cards at kodak.com by uploading the pic from our camera.  We had them printed at Target and it was very convenient!

  6. We are professional photographers and from a wedding, we usually return the pictures in a matter of a month.

It also depends on how the photographer works with the images. If he retouches them , then it will take longer, since, retouched images are always better then originals. If he decided to do that with all the images, then it should take longer. If you receive them and you are not satisfied with the color balance, then you know that he slacked of. Always be careful choosing a photographer, it is a very icky thing some do.

  7. Someone in your family took a good picture I'm sure.  Use that for your thank you notes but just b/c you don't have a picture doesn't mean you shouldn't be writing them.  You should be ready to drop a lot of them in the mail as soon as you get them.

Besides how are you going to copy them?  If you don't buy the negatives from the photographer, you can't make copies of it.  Even Walmart will ask you for the proof.  Were you going to buy a 4x6 from the photographer for every one?  It's not really worth it.  Most people are just going to trash it.

6 wks really isn't that long.  What does your contract state?  Mine was 4 wks to  get the proofs to me.  Then 8 wks to get the albums.  She happened to be faster but if the contract states otherwise you don't have any reason to expect otherwise.
