It is a 2001 ZX6R Ninja I have to recharge the battery at least 2x a month. how do i troubleshoot the problem?

  1. That's obviously too much charging.

    get a new battery. Wal*Mart has them for $40 and you get like $17 back when you turn in your old battery.

    Once a battery is dead, you can't charge it up.

    So go buy a new battery, fill it with the battery acid, then take it to autozone or advanced auto parts and let them charge it correctly. Don't use your charger as there may be an issue with it.

    When the off season hits, just unhook the battery. About every 2 weeks go hook it back up and ride the bike a mile or two, park it and unhook it again. That battery will last you at least 3 seasons without ever charging it.


  2. Do you leave your key on or something? That is a unnecessary amount of charging.

    Hey, maybe your battery is just junk. They get old, and like any other battery, deteriorate with time.
