  1. ppl dont fall off the earth cause gravity keeps them on

earth doesn't fall cause the atmosphere around it is like a forcefield

gravity travels a distance away from the earth so once u are out of the gravity zone u float so u never really fall off the earth

rockets are held in the atmoshphere causing ur weight to be lighter and gravity pulls u down so u cant fall off cause it is kind of like a magnet u can seperate them from each other but if they get too close together they stick to eachother

earth is the same but a bigger scale!

    hope this helps

  2. what?  stay in school girl!

  3. The earth is rotating and by inertia all objects are attracted towards the centre of the earth as all the planets of our solar system are all attracted towards the sun while maintaining their distance.

  4. Jump off a building and see if you fall down to earth!!

  5. Gravity is the force that attracts all matter. It is a very weak force so it requires a LOT of mass to work to any noticeable degree. That is why we are attracted to the Earth and not pencils.

The Earth has a lot of mass so we are attracted to it. Mathematically we are attracted to the Earth's core. Point to the center of the Earth... do it...

You should be pointint directly down. Now hold something at arms length and let go of it...

It should have fallen in the exact direction you pointed to a second ago. This is because it and you are being attracted to Earth's core. If you were on the opposite side of the planet planet you wouldn't fall off because you are still being attracted to the core... not space.

Down is not North or south. In space there is no down. Down is only the direction of Earth's core.

  6. The key is gravity my friend.  The more something weighs (mass) determines how gravity affects two objects.  Earths gravity is pulling us inward to its core.  If the Sun were closer to us then the Sun would literally pull us off Earth toward its core.

Put it like this.  If you were put into space between the Sun and the Earth then the Sun's gravity would start pulling you toward its core because it weighs more than Earth.

So gravity keeps ANYTHING that has weight or mass from flying off into space.  However, if another object of GREATER weight or mass got close enough to Earth then we would be pulled off Earth towards that other object.  That new object's gravity would have to exceed the Earths gravity of course.

  7. Think of a round ball..... and then spin it in a circle

  8. i think the easiet answer a good student can understand is that the force of gravity do exist on the earth surface and it acts on every object that has mass by pulling them to the centre of the earth accoding to sir isaac newton and for more enquries contact this mail address;lanphiz_2004@yahoo.com

  9. If there was a crack in the earth you would fall through it and water would too.  all objects have gravitational pull.  It depends up the mass of the object.  The earth is extremely massive compared to a human. Therefore we are pulled to it more than it is pulled to one of us.   The sun is more massive than the earth and it keeps the earth in orbit around the sun.
