Massimo Moratti, Chief Executive Officer at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, has gone on to comment on the future of Wesley Sneijder and stated that he wants him to play in the League.
The Nerazzurri boss has not been as vocal during the current season as compared to the seasons before; however, after the situation that has developed between Inter Milan and their Dutch midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799, he has gone on to give his own opinion
regarding the situation. He was commenting on the contractual dispute that has put the relationship between the two parties at an impasse, and to that he has replied that it is an unfortunate set of circumstances.
Furthermore, the club patron has gone on to comment that it would be beneficial for the team to play Wesley Sneijder. The Dutch midfielder is in the last year of his contract and that has led the Nerazzurri outfit to hand a new contract to the player. His
wages have been slashed down in the revised contract, and the club has stated that they would see what becomes of the situation between the two parties.
Sneijder has made it clear that he would not be signing on a contract extension at the club following their proposal and it seems like the two parties would have to reach a mutual agreement till he departs in January. Moratti has stated that he would like
to play the Dutchman in the matches, but reminded everyone that he does not involve himself in the decision making of the team. The oil baron maintained that Stramaccioni would see whether the player plays on the field or not.
He went on to state that it is not in his interests to pay players who will be watching the match from the stands. He was quoted to have said:
“As always, the decision to play or not is in the hands of the Coach. I'd be the first to ask the Coach to play him. I have no interest in paying someone just to sit in the stands, while he could help us win games.”
The President of the club was talking to the press outside his office.
