  1. Prepare and file them separately.  It would only confuse the IRS to get more than one filing in the same package.  Generally, it is advisable to do the oldest one first, since sometimes you need "prior year" values to help you complete the current form.


  2. You file each year separately.

  3. You file them as two separate returns.  The 2007 can be e-filed until Oct 15th however the 2006 must be filed as a paper return.  If you file both as a paper return do not send them in the same envelope.  Always mail them with a return receipt to prove that the IRS got them.

    2007 can still be filed electronically but 2006 will have to be mailed in.
