It is less dangerous to jump from a high wall onto loose earth than onto a concrete pavement?

  1. Because the loose earth "gives" a bit when you jump on it, the time of impact is extended.  This lengthens the time you are coming to a stop and will be 'less dangerous' than jumping onto concrete.
