Its difficult to read 12 point font, I usually change it to 14 to make it comfortable to read. Should I get my eyes checked?

  1. A young person should be able to read N5 at a reasonable distance in a reasonable light.

(otherwise there would be no point in printing the stuff!)

12 point not being comfortable definitely indicates the need for a check.

  2. If you are describing 12 point font on a printed document, then yes - you need an eye exam.  12 pts is the recommended point size for the average middle-aged reader (who due to age, has a bit more trouble reading text).  If you're describing what SHOULD be 12 pt on a website, you can't necessarily trust the setting and perhaps you don't have a problem.

    Good luck!
