It is not the age, it is the shape that matters for Phil Taylor
Regardless of whether he wins or loses, Phil Taylor will always remain the ‘people’s champion’ of darts. The 15-time World Champion has not been just a player but an entire institution when it comes to darts.
He does not carry awards and trophies, but a legacy that will serve as a beacon of hope and guidance for all the people who intend to pursue their career in the game of darts.
However, as they say, everything that has a beginning has an end and it is no exception in Taylor’s case. For that matter, it was never thought that a player is totally indispensable.
Putting it as simply as possible, he has lost matches but he has won more than he has lost. The Power, however, for some time has been confronted with some problems that have affected his game.
Moreover, his adverse performance has been in some of the most crucial championships that were pivotal for him, especially in regards of maintaining his hegemony on the game.
The first jolt to his performance came in the form of his loss against Dave Chisnall at Ladbrokes that led to his elimination from the event.
Next, he appeared forming a team with Adrian Lewis to represent England in the prestigious World Cup, where the dangerous duo once again testified as to why they are known as the most dangerous ones in darts.
However, it is important to mention that Taylor met an unexpected defeat in the event at the hands of an amateur Canadian darts player.
Even after winning the event, Taylor was convinced that he will have to recover from the loopholes he is experiencing in order to maintain his image and dominion in darts.
For him, it was the right time to get into proper shape, before the onset of next season of darts.
"This is the year to get into shape," said Phil. "When I was 13, I decided to get into shape and get into bodybuilding, I didn’t want girls calling me fatty".
Taylor admits that he used to love it when he was thin. For him, it was like inhaling fresh breath of air.
In order to regain his form and health status back, he is all set and prepared to spend ample time in the gym under the supervision of the senior gym trainer Laura Church.
According to Taylor, Laura has been a constant support and provided guidance in supervising his different actions.
Simultaneously, she advised him on the diet plan that he has to follow in order to continue leading a healthy life.
Taylor said, "Laura trains me and cooks for me it’s perfect. If she tells me to do something I would do it, even on the days I don’t feel like training I would still go as I know she knows what she is talking about and this will help me with my health and
weight loss".
The effect of this training can be manifested from the fact that within a very short span of time Taylor expects to lose two pounds every week.
If Taylor continues to practice this way, he will be able to reduce his weight considerably and with the help of this projected estimation, he will be able to reach an ideal weight position.
With the help of this change in his temperament and lifestyle, Taylor expects to get back in his previous form.
