Question:

It is now the end of June and I still haven't received my New York State Tax Refund. Has anyone?

I filed March 3rd. I received everything else. Not my NYS tax refund. I just received a notice about my stimulus check. I'm confused. How come New York State hasn't sent me my refund? The status on their website has said it's been fully processed for exactly one month now. Is anyone else waiting here in NY as well?

  1. Not as many now.   New York finally began to issue refunds on April 3, just after the first quarter.   Hmmm.   Furthermore, New York is in trouble with the Federal government because the state is less than 50% fully on their unemployment insurance pool.   So be sure to claim "exempt" on a new W-2.   The year is half over.   If you cannot claim exempt, claim 12 exemptions.   They key is to owe a little bit of income tax so that you are not giving corrupt New York an interest free loan, a portion of which begins 15 months before you receive your state income tax refund.

Here are some toll-free numbers.  Also including the stealing one because a lot of New York taxpayers are having their refunds stolen in entirety or in part:

    Personal Income Tax Refund Information

             1-800-443-3200

As with the IRS, you will need to know your social security number, filing status and exact whole-dollar amount of your refund to use this service.

    • Dispute Your Personal Income Tax Bill or Adjusted Refund 1-877-876-2977 (U.S. and Canada)

If you are not subject to roaming charges, you may want to call the taxation office in your district:
