It is obvious neither side of the Global Warming theory will listen to the other so nothing is getting done.?

Because we argue about global warming, no actual changes can take place in our environment. More and more children and adults have asthma and chemicals are placed in direct contact with us and in our homes and food. Because the human C02 issue and global warming argument is so contested the government is able to do anything they want with regard to pollution and harmful chemicals substances. The FDA is not helping us but hurting us by banning substances like Stevia as a sweetener so we can all drink poisonous Nutrasweet all because a plant cannot be patented. Why can't we all just get along and stop worrying about the sky falling and actually take individual action instead of relying on the government to tax us and spend our carbon tax money on their lifelong salaries.

  1. Many people and governments are doing quite a lot about global warming. There is, in fact, an insane amount of good stuff going on. People alway focus on the negative, but there is a lot of positive to balance it out.

We are currently building so many biofuel factories that we will have a hard time using them.

Wind power is bigger than it has ever been, and keeps growing.

Obama and Hillary have extensive environmental action plans.

There is a new X prize out; big money to the first company that designs a marketable car that makes 100 MPG

Scientists are designing better farming methods, which will reduce the amount of forest that need to be cut down.

China and Africa are starting major tree planting campaigns, which will slow the spread of deserts and absorb more carbon.

Gas prices are up -- that means more pressure to design more fuel efficient cars and alternate fuel sources. As you can see, lots of new fuel efficient cars are coming on the market.

America is changing over to more energy efficient light bulbs. By 2014 you will not be able to buy a traditional bulb.

Nuclear power is gaining popularity. Not always a good thing, but it does help global warming.

More green products are coming onto the market every day.

Many governments, including America, give tax breaks and other incentives to build energy efficient homes.

    And much, much more.

Of course, a lot of the problems you are talking about not global warming problems, but problems that are also being worked on by many smart people.

The FDA is actually trying to help, but politics get in the way. They are still working for the good of all Americans, and every year getting a little better.

But, despite everything I've said, individual action is a good thing, and we should all go work on these problems now.

  3. The world is going to be over populated as it is in 50 years.  Let the strong survive and anyone that gets sick because their body cant take alittle global warming, so be it.

Do you like to sit in traffic now?  Imagine double the cars on the same roads.....thats not in 500 years from now, thats in 50 years.

  4. Please - Pollution control is a multi billion dollar business in the US alone.

"Things" are getting done, and there getting done well.

The only thing that isn't getting done is gvmt getting involved, raising taxes and limiting freedom.

We can see the effect of the action already taken by business with the record cold and snow we have received this year.

  5. We cannot control nature, and our small contribution to the carbon footprint pales in comparison to natural "disasters", ie volcanos, forest fires, decomposition of organic matter, etc.

Nature has its own methods of dealing with surplus and deficits in creating a balanced ecosystem.  We humans believe we're so smart,  powerful and capable that we need to intervene.

Most humans can't keep a checkbook balanced. Let nature take care of nature.

  6. Well, the first thing to realize is that there is no "two sides." man made global warming is a proven science ("theory, in sience, does NOT mean an unproven idea--tha tis a hypothesis.  A theory is accepted--ans global warming is--only when it is proven).

My point--again--there is no "two sides."  The debate is over--and has been for a decade. We need to move on to the business of making policy changes and developing and implementing alternative technologes for energy use and production.

It is the so-called "skeptics"--or more correctly, the oil and coal companies who pay the skeptics--who are blocking the needed policyinitiatives.  There iis nothing to "discuss"--they simply have to be pushed out of the way.

I'm quite serious. The kind of thing the skeptics do--like Bush's censorship of scientists, or the lobbying of Congress by the oil companies  to block improved fuel efficiency standards--simply shows what the "other side" is--lying special interests. They have nothing to contribute--except more pollution.

  7. Yes we believers are getting pissed more and more all the time.  Sooner or later a terminal friction will result.  The matters of the preservation of future generations is too importatant to dismiss to common polluting swines.
