It is rare to find Ca stomach metastasis in liver, Why? ?

It is rare for Ca stomach to metastasize to liver. Is there any explanation for it. It is so near to stomach and venous drainage is also to stomach. Any answer will be highly appreciated. Thanks

  1. It isn’t rare. It is not unusual to find metastatic disease just about anywhere with stomach cancer with those who do have mets 40% have liver mets, 40% have lung mets and 10% is to the peritoneum.  


  2. The three most common places for stomach cancer to metatasize is liver, bones and lungs, in that order.
