Antonio Conte, the head coach of the Juventus outfit, has gone on to comment on the performances of his team and stated that it was hard for him to miss out.
Antonio Conte has finally broken the silence with the media following the termination of the length of the ban he was facing. Initially, he was told to sit out the length of the season in the stands, with the Italian sporting authorities banning him for
10 months from fulfilling the full length of his duties with the Serie A outfit.
This was later revoked following the appeal made by the lawyers of Antonio Conte, and even though they could not let the ban go away altogether, they made sure that they had the length of the ban brought into consideration. The 10 month ban was slashed by
six months to four months, and the ban was lifted by the 6th of December, with Conte taking over the full duties of his coaching role at the club with the game against Palermo.
Despite the lack of evidence against the former Bari head coach, he was still convicted by the judicial system. Conte was accused of failing to inform Italian sporting authorities about matches being fixed in the Serie B, with the accusations being made
for the matches Siena-Novara and Albinoleffe-Siena; and even though he pleads innocence on both accounts, he was still convicted. He was reprimanded for the lack of evidence to prove his innocence.
For a person coming on the high of having led his club to the ultimate success by lifting the Scudetto in his first year as the Bianconeri head coach, it was a difficult thing to swallow and Conte conceded that it was difficult for him to come to terms with
it. He further went on to said:
“It is inevitable that it causes you pain when you’re away from the field for such a long time, even if you get to work with the team during the week. You miss the emotions of the game, but I have been forced to face this situation and hope that it was at
least helpful to build character.”
The Turin mastermind would be hoping to defend the Scudetto as well.
