A bug bomb might be overkill (no pun intended).

You don't mention what it is, but check at the grocery or drug store for Raid - one that kills hornets. It will work on all sorts of little creatures, but the best part is that it has a really long stream of spray - I mean, it's made for getting a hornet, and nobody wants to be close to one of those!

So with that long stream of spray, you can spray the little creep on your ceiling with no problem, even from your doorway so you can jet down the hall.

Or you could spray the stuff into the vent.
