  1. Consider going to your orthodontist...?

  2. It's not supposed to but if it is tell your orthodontist and ask what she/he could do about it.

  3. they can press and rub; tell your dentist and he can loosen them up a little or give you ideas to reduce the pain. For now; try sucking on ice cubes to the numb the area.

  4. Make sure your brushing your gums really good because that same thing happened to me and my orthidonist told me to brush my gums better. The reason why is that because of your braces, your gums swell more so you have to try to avoid that by brushing them.

  5. Talk to your orthodontist if it is giving you really harsh pain.  The braces may seem like it's going into your gum but it's not.  Your teeth may have not have gotten used to the braces yet and are still trying to space out a bit.  If the pain is really bad, talk to your orthodontist or i suggest you take Tylenol.  It helped me a lot.

  6. go to your orthodontist

  7. 1. put wax on

    2. call your ortho right away just to be on the safe side, it could be that they put on your brackets too close to your gums or your gums are swelling up

  8. then tell your parents to take you to the orthodontist.  there's nothing we can do here.

  9. put wax on it

your orthodontist should give you a pack.

dont worry when they come out itll be worth the pain:]

  10. dont worry there not.

if they were, theyd tell you

and if u want talk to them anyway.

  11. yeah...i know what youmean.

sometimes there are little hooks on the brackets that look like its poking your gum...or somtimes its just poking the inside of your cheek.

so what you can do is: use some of the wax that your ortho should have given you, to stop the rubbing and pain. just stick it on and it should help...

and if you didnt happen to get any of the wax, pop back into your ortho and ask if they have any you can get (its free!)

if that isnt working, just pop some painkillers and wait it out....your mouth will get used to it! it just takes a week or so...

if you try these things and it isnt helping, and the pain persists then youll have to call or see your ortho - maybe theyll have some more ideas?

it is possible that there s piece of wire or something sticking out where it shouldnt be...which is something your ortho can trim and fix for you

    anyways, i hope this helps

    good luck!

  12. tell your parents i'm sure they will know wht to do!!!!

  13. your teeth must have become short & the bands are pearcing into the gums. You need to go back to your orthodontist & get it shortened.

  14. hey ive got bracces too i know the feeling... keep them clean and at your next visit tell your orthodontis (or whatever) about it can be painfull some times and like if u mean the inside of ur lips like when u sleep on the side of ur face and u have a mark.....id say sleep up if u can like make it so u dont sleeep on your side.  if you have just gotten ur braces then you will get used to it over time

  15. it dosnt go into ur gums, but ur gum is inflammed and enlarged, un eed gum therapy (periodontal treatment)
