It makes no sense for Fredy Guarin to stay at FC Porto, says agent – Report

Agent of Fredy Guarin claims that his client will leave FC Porto, as he hasn’t been able to feature properly under http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitor-c36281 Pereira. The midfielder was regular starter last term, but it seems as if he has lost his place under the new regime and in search of
game time he will be parting ways with the club.
Colombian International, Fredy Guarin, has experienced a major turnaround in his status at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 in recent months. The attacker was one of the first players on the team sheet under Andre Villas-Boas, but new coach Vitor Pereira has hardly utilized his
services this campaign.
Under the tactician, the former Saint-Etienne man has been used sporadically and has only been included in the starting line-up seven times this season, something which is the complete opposite of what was happening last time.
Guarin was considered to be first-choice in the centre of the pitch alongside Joao Moutinho previously and his contribution in the UEFA Europa League final eventually led to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Helton-c16018 lifting the prestigious trophy.
The Coffee Growers International was responsible for assisting the only goal of the game, that too with a sumptuously whipped cross for striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276, who duly obliged with a looping header into the top corner.
However that is not the case anymore, as the trainers at Estadio do Dragao have not been fielding the 25-year-old. The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Belluschi-c13628 and Steven Defour have overtaken him in the midfield compartment and it has limited his impact this time around.
While his importance to the Portistas has significantly decreased in the past few months, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and Real Madrid in the summer.
Although a move did not materialize during the break, a switch could possibly occur in January especially as his agent insists that his client will no longer remain with the Portuguese champions.
"After playing the Europa League final and having the season he had, the coach does not count on him as a starter. Nothing seems to convince the coach,” he said.
The representative also revealed that several clubs remained interested in Guarin and a transfer was likely to happen, as the player was struggling to play on regular basis.
"If there are clubs interested in him, we will listen to their offers seriously, no matter if it is Roma or any other club. It makes no sense to continue in this situation. Looking at his condition, it is convenient to make a change,” http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 Ferreyra was
quoted as saying.
With his time limited at FC Porto, Fredy Guarin will be looking to sign for a top European club and Roma is reported is to be his preferred destination, as the Italian side are still on the lookout for a top midfielder.
