  1. Most Atlantic hurricanes that hit the US and Mexico start as disturbances that move west off of the coast of Africa. Trade winds and push these disturbances east, where they organize and grow stronger.

Tropical disturbances need warm water (~80 degrees F) to strengthen into hurricanes. That's why many tropical disturbances grow stronger in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico.  As such, the UK doesn't have much to worry about.

It is, at best, EXTREMELY speculative to proclaim that global warming will cause hurricanes to strike the UK.

  2. The Sea/Ocean water is too cold.  You will need the water temperature to be at least 80 degrees F/ 26 Degrees C to sustain a tropical system like a hurricane.

  3. U are so lucky!!

  4. Hurricanes are fueled by warm sea water.  The water around the UK and Europe is too cold to fuel a hurricane so the most severe storms we get are tropical storms.

  5. Geography and climate. It will change eventually due to global warming and global dimming.
