  1. 2cm is the length of water fill when it rains.

5*3*3 =45 cubic cm of water

  2. the amount of a rainfall in an area is count by its height,

as an example: 1 mm height of rain means a liter water in a meter square..

so 2 cm = 20 liters of water in a meter square..

since it falls in a rectangular field so the wide is:

    5 * 3 = 15 centi meters square..

if rainfall is recorded as 3 cm so the amount of water is:

    3 x 15 = 45 cm cubic

means there is a total of 0,045 liter of water = 45 ml of water
