  1. Sheena you should know what question you are typing It is not 5cm x 2cm.  Our question is 5m x 2m.

    for this u need to take out the volume of water

    converting 3cm into m=0.03m

    volume= 5 x 2 x 0.03=0.3m i.e. 30cm

  2. Do you understand that 2 cm is a very small amount.?.?.?.?.? I wouldnt consider your dimensions a field. And that you might need to re-check your math but if your serious, Mike is correct!

  3. centimeters is a metric measurement, the european method of measurment.

  4. It means it will fill to a depth of 2 cm.

    So in a field with dimensions 5cm x 2 cm (and that's a pretty d**n small field if you ask me) the volume of water will be 5x2x2=20 cm^3.

  5. It means that in a rectangular straight sided pan (or out on the lawn) the collected water will be 3 cm deep and the pan is 5cm long and 2cm wide.

      Most of the time, rain is measured by collecting over a large area and funneling it down to make small amounts more easily measureable.   If the top of the funnel is 100 cm^2 in area and it necks down to dump the water in a tube with 10 cm^2 area, then for every 1 mm that falls, there will be water 10 mm deep in the tube - easier to read.

  6. It means that 2 centimeters of rain has fallen during a specified period of time..
