It's pretty easy. The answer is always a multiple of 9. They just put the same sign on all numbers that are a multiple of 9 so which ever one you pick, the ball knows which sign you have chosen.

Actually it's pretty clever. If you guess 95, 9+5=14 and 95-14=81 and of course the symbol will appear in the ball. If you play it again though you will realize that 81's symbol changes each time so that you don't begin to catch on that there's a system.

Let's work backwards for a second: pick a number that it didn't guess the symbol for...say 80. Now there's only a handful of combinations that could work because of the subtraction (all the original numbers have to be over 80).

Now none of the numbers between 80 and 90 can work as the original selection because the digits added together then subtracted will always be less than 80. Actually they will all be the same number (83 gives 8+3=11, 83-11=72 and 86 yields 14 which when subtracted also gives 72). So you see when you pick between a range of numbers you are actually always going to get the same result.

Now that you realize different rages give the same result look at the numbers like 59, 63, 81 etc as the final number (not the first) and they will always have the same symbol...and this symbol will be in the ball because it knows which numbers apply to the above pattern. The rest of the numbers symbols are generated randomly and sometimes match the guessed symbol, so if you're trying to figure out which ones it will always guess, reload the game a few times.

it's a series of simple mathematical logic....my fifth grade students play this kind of game on the unwary...it's really quite simple.

TThe answer selected each time by the "Magicball" is the symbol that is present the greatest number of times. So using basic statistics the creator of the game can predict that the symbol you guessed would be the symbol that appears most times. Though the ball is not always right, it has a higher chance to be right then wrong, which makes it easy for the game to trick you

OMG I'VE DONE THIS BEFORE BUT I JUST FIGURED IT OUTTT!!

ok so i chose 15 and so 1+5=6. 15-6=9 and i looked at the symbol but i DIDN'T press next. so then i tried 20...blah blah and i get 18 which has the SAME symbol as 9.......blah blah.....try it with a bunch of numbers. it's made possible where you can only have one answer.
