  1. I'm not black so I really don't have room to talk but I think you're penalized because of a stereotype. I used to think it was really weird to see black rock musicians, the only one I knew of was Jimi Hendrix. For some reason over time as black people have created new types of music like Rap and Hip Hop there have been less and less black musicians performing Rock music, so the rest of us now think its odd to see black rock musicians. This seems kind of odd because rock is a creation of black musicians that white people took and ran with. Sorry I can't answer you're question for real!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I like to listen to rock too. I just think its better than other genres of music. I even play the drums in a alternative rock band.

  3. I'm half black, but that doesn't really count.  But I do listen to rock.  I'm glad to see that, and I'm starting to notice it some more, too.  One kid in one of my H.S. classes listens to Slipknot.  I think the stereotype skewed me.  You can't help it, though when almost everyone else in my suburb school tries to act tough by listening to T-Pain, Soulja Boy, etc.  Just listen to it, but don't act like something you're not.

I went off into a rant right there, sorry.

  4. ...define...rock.

  5. You're not.  You'll realize it when you're older.

  6. I have 4 friends that are black and like rock music!

  9. my mate Kane listens 2 death metal

some big black guy, wearing a beanie hat, cradle of filth t-shirt and camo shorts

you get the picture, metal head all the way

  10. I'm black, technically african since I'm Mauritian, and love rock music

    Famous black rock n rollers:

    Jimi

    Phil Lynott

Arthur Lee (i look like him! )

    kele okereke

    TV on the Radio

    Bad Brains

    the Specials

and basically most guys in early blues, like Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters... and many, many more I'm sure

I usually consider things beyond racial stereotypes, and so should you not let them people tag you according to your looks. ;)

Oh and I also consider Early R & B (60s) as a form of rock n roll, gotta love Motown, Stax ...

And do dabble a little in rap, as its always very good for the ego to be able to show your elitist musical approach, as in:

Snoop Dogg? I don't think he's done anything good recently, I much prefer early Public Enemy, Run DMC, Dr. Octagon you know, VINTAGE rap!

*and then you just made it clear that you shouldnt be messed with concerning anything pertainging to music * :D

  15. No you're not. Ditto Dr. Sarcastic....

  16. I'm Black and I love rock music.
