It seems like the less time I spend on college assignments, the better mark I get. Should I work less?

never mind the grade...spend the time you need to really LEARN the subject.  if you come away retaining the info and only need to spend a little time, fine, do that.  but if you only remember it long enough for the test, spend more time and really learn it.

Could be you're over-thinking your work. There is a theory that says we should always go with our immediate hunch--it's more often correct than the answer we come up with after significant thought.
