I hate fuel mileage races...it takes a lot of the skill out of it, other than just being able to save fuel. Jr. has had a couple of good finishes by saving fuel this season. I wish this race would be about 220 laps, that way it might not make every race there a fuel mileage race. I hate it everytime someone sneaks in and wins a race, despite not leading any other point in the race. This is not just because of Jr. Matter of fact, someone asked a question about this a while back and I said the same thing.

I agree with your COT, not real sure about if he can win without strategy. The COT is CAUSING more strategy, you can't pass, so they are doing it on pit stops.

Isn't that how all wins are they require good strategy and it wasn't only strategy he saved 6 laps of fuel. No valide argument so keep drinkin that haterade and try again.

Well he should have won in richmond but wild thing spun him out. so my answer is no.

I would disagree.  While strategy and gambling may play a role in Junior (or any other drivers win) it's hardly the full picture.

The car has to be good enough to keep up with the field and the driver has to make sure the car is in some sort of position to compete.

You hear guys who win the race say we had about a 5th place  car  today, but such and such allowed us to win.  You never hear a guy say, well we had about a 30th place car today and such and such bought us the win.

And lets be honest.  Fuel strategy today was based on 200 laps, not 203.  Junior had to do something to make sure he still had the fuel to run those extra laps.  So I would hardly call todays victory a win on strategy.  Those last two cautions threw strategy right out the window.

Anyways, just my 2 cents worth.

Winning using strategy is winning. Trying to discredit the win because of it is weak.

It's like saying the N-B-A should just et the Lakers have the trophy just because Kobe's on the floor.

It takes more than just a fast car to win a NASCAR race.

I was so pissed after the race. I am a huge kenseth fan. I think everyone knows Matt had the best car. Dale Jr got super lucky, and cheated. Nascar told him if he passed the pace car again at the end of the race, he would be penalized. Since it's jr, he didn't get penalized after he continued to pass the pace car. And the caution came out at the end to basically hand him the win. He would have ran out of gas if it wasn't for that. Kenseth had the best car, Dale Jr sucks, he got super lucky and cheated. I hope he finishes 43rd every week for the rest of the year.
