  1. He's just not really famous despite being in one of the most famous royal families of our time. On top of that, it was said that he did make some racist comments so if true or false that could take a toll.

  2. Because he isn't British by birth and had the nerve to marry the then future Queen of England.  I do think people need to leave him alone.  He is probably a very nice person if you give him a chance.

  3. He is very blunt, and never mastered the art of royal diplomacy. However, personally, that's why I like him!

  4. Prince Philip has gained something of a reputation for making controversial remarks, particularly when meeting the British public or on state visits to other countries.

One of the most controversial aspects of the Duke was his relationship with his daughters-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales and Sarah, Duchess of York. He was alleged to have been hostile to Diana after her divorce from the Prince of Wales. Mohamed Al-Fayed, the father of Diana's companion Dodi Al-Fayed and owner of Harrods, even suggested in court that the Duke was responsible for ordering Diana's death, remarks that led the Duke and the other members of the Royal Family to rescind their Royal Warrants from Harrods. The Duke remains close to his grandchildren Princes William and Harry, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and Lady Louise Windsor.

Rumor always has it that the inner royal circle does question his treatment towards his wife, Queen Elizabeth II. A widely known incident occurred when Prince Philip drove Queen Elizabeth to an evening engagement, when he was told to drive slowly, he simply told his wife to either keep quiet or walk to the event on foot." He may or may not be joking but many others felt that Queen Elizabeth is a monarch in public, however, she is still a dutiful wife behind private closed doors.

  5. I think he is funny. Others don't like him because he goes to another country and takes the mickey out of them. Actually, he does that to everyone.

  6. I think you are referring to the next in line.  It may have to do with his cheating on his wife, or chasing a married  women...

Low moral character is not too appealing for many

  7. I have no idea, but he has done some good things such as the Duke of Edinburghs award and didnt he create the WWF? (not sure on the last point)

  8. I think he's a k**b with a guilty secret

  9. I do not think this is true.  People who read the tabloids where they print unflattering stories about him have that impression.  In England though, the people in general know that he has done more to modernize the monarchy than anyone.  Next month, he and the Queen will have been married for 60 years.  While he may have a habit of saying inappropriate things at times, he is well regarded for doing what needs to be done and saying what needs to be said.  I think he's regarded with tremendous respect, and a lot of affection.  He's done a lot to help the Royal Family hang on to a monarchy that lots of people feel shouldn't even exist even more.  He-and maybe Princess Anne, are the ones who actually work hard for the public money they receive...
