It sure is a shame here in the USA...?

Absolutely not one mention of the WC, or even the final on any television/ news network. It's all 'college football', and 'Baseball' results. No mention of the WORLD cup rugby!

A real disgrace if you ask me.

  1. The fact remains that USA had a national team in this World cup (and other W.C.'s)  and yet not a single news item anywhere in the whole country that I am aware of.  Regardless of whether or not a particular sport is "popular" in a country, if you have a national team representing that country, surely there should be SOME acknowledgement? Terrible really.  USA let down their rugby team. Great shame.

  2. Whilst I sympathise with you mate, the street runs both ways.  I recall reading about a Basketball team playing an exhibition match in Munich and they were shocked that the Baseball finals were not on TV in Germany.

They couldn't watch it, listen to it on the radio, get results from the news, not a thing.  It's horses for courses.

When travelling in the USA, an English guy I was with wanted to watch Man U play Arsenal.  Again, he couldn't find anything.  Total shock.

I hope you got to watch it and I hope you support your local club.

  3. what are 'foreigners'

you're probably a 'foreigner' yourself unless ur a native

and rugby isn't mentioned because usa is rubbish

  4. Here in England also hahahaha

  5. I get what you mean, and I respect your opinions, but isnt rugby more popular in other countries.

  6. really? i thought they would've had at least some sort of interest in what was going on, who won etc. Even if their team didn't get very far. I mean, it was one of the best sporting events since four years ago, lol.

I'll be waiting another four years for that same nerve racking feeling!

well done to both SA and England!
