Question:

It takes me 2 minutes to solve the Rubik's Cube... where can I learn more efficient algorithyms?

I know two different methods for solving the rubik's cube - but they both start out the same, so it's more like 1.5 methods. They're both layer ones, where you solve one side with no algorithms, get the middle pieces, and then work on the remaining side the rest of the time. Where could I learn all sorts of new algorithms and new systems to solve the cube? I'd like to cut down my time by at least a minute.

  1. listen to the dude before me

  2. You can easily go on google i found a good web once called rubiks rocks or somthing like that. Hope I helped!

  3. I was in the same boat a month ago. I only new one or two variations on the layer by layer method and i wanted to get down to under a minute. I bought Speedsolving the Cube by Dan Harris. It tought me a new more efficient way to solve. I can now get below 50 seconds on a good solve. good luck.

  4. Hey there!!!

    Welcome to Speedcubing!

If you want to learn a more advanced method, first you need to improve your time by working on your finger tricks.

And for the OLL and PLL, go to the link down at the bottom. It will show you all 57 cases of OLL and all 21 cases of PLL.

Go to this link to practice your finger tricks:

And also go to the other part of the video above, or part 1.5.

In this video will also show you how to lubricate your cube.

You can use the Jessica Fridrich Method, or the CFOP Method.

In this method, you can learn a lot of short cut to the entire yellow face or the OLL. There are 57 cases for you to learn.

And then there's PLL. There are 21 cases for the PLL. Which you switch all the corners and the edges that are flipped the wrong way.

But the requirement for this method is to be able to solve the cube around 1 minute by using the beginner's method.

Or you can try the Petrus Method.

    Invented by Lars Petrus.

Other method you can try is the Roux Method.

    The Waterman's Method.

    Good Luck!!!

p.s If you go to Dans Cube Station, which is the first link I gave you. Then you can find other method I didn't show here.

  5. 2 minutes...i got the rubiks 2 months ago and I'm still trying to solve it.

  6. Try youtube and search your query. They offer a lot of tutorials that help to discuss what you can do.

  7. it takes me 1.46 at least to solve the cube. i guess you should lubricate it to make it move a little faster.
