  1. for me, i've been dancing on pointe for 4-5 years and my feet still look normal.

nothing has ever happened to my feet

so i guess it's different with different people

  2. Ballet and dance in general, like sports, can take it's toll on the body and different body parts. The benefits of being active in dance or athletics, which is really part of a healthy lifestyle for most people, outways your physical risks.

Be active in whatever makes you feel good and be happy!

  3. duhh.... but if you love it then you shouldnt care! : )

  4. It really depends. I don't think it would do too much damage doing a 60 minute class every week with strong feet and ankles. Appropriate padding will help too.

Of course if your a ballerina then it would cause some serious damage because your on pointe 6-7 days a week.

  5. if you dance on your toes RIGHT then no. If you rotate your feet, or anything else it can severely damage your foot. In fact, my pointe teacher can no longer do point because her feet are so badly damaged! if you love it though, do it.

  6. Yes, but I really dont care, becuase I love Pointe! And there lots of things you can do to help your feet not go as bad. But it mostly will damge your feet on little things like blisters =]

  7. yes it could be if you dont make sure you are physically strong enough. but i have been on pointe for over 5 years and nothing has happened to my feet so u shouldnt worry about it.

  8. well if by bad you mean painful, yes... but don't let that scare you ballet is a very rewarding sport/art-form
