It was brave of Fabricio Coloccini to play against Manchester United, says Alan Pardew – EPL News
Newcastle United manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew, has hailed the bravery of the Magpies’ influential skipper, Fabricio Coloccini, after the Argentinean centre-back made a quick recovery from a back injury to feature against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Coloccini, who has been a revelation at the Tyneside club, suffered a back injury three weeks ago. Initially, the 29-year-old was ruled out for several weeks, however, the centre-back showed extraordinary recovery and was a surprise inclusion in Newcastle
United’s starting eleven against Manchester United.
Pardew believes that Coloccini showed extraordinary commitment as he gave his best performance despite lacking full fitness. The Magpies’ boss has credited his skipper for the positive result at Old Trafford and said:
“It was Colo’s bravery that got him out there, and we wouldn’t have got the results without him – 100%.”
Pardew revealed that Coloccini’s absence was certain from the match-day squad to face Manchester United. The Tyneside club manager told the reporters:

Newcastle United’s impressive start to the ongoing 2011/12 Premier League season is a result of their outstanding defensive performance since the start of the campaign. Coloccini, who was named the Newcaslte captain for this season, has been a standout performer
for the Magpies and has formed a formidable defensive partnership with Steve Taylor.
Pardew hailed Coloccini and Taylor’s partnership and added, “To work with Colo each day is great for me. You can only learn from him and get better. He’s a great leader for us and the partnership is going really well.”
Coloccini has featured in all league games for Newcastle United this season. Moreover, the 29-year-old has also scored 1 goal in 16 appearances in all competitions this term.
