The sporting director at Fiorentina has gone on to give his remarks on the match between the Rossoneri and the Viola outfit and remarked that they played like Diavolo.
Fiorentina have been a breath of fresh air into the Serie A, and following the 2011-12 season where they were scraping their way to retain their place in the first division of the Italian Lega, their form during the current season has taken everyone by surprise.
Although big things were expected from the Florence based outfit, it is safe to say that no one would have predicted such a change in the style of play associated with the club.
The Gigliati had signed many players in the previous summer transfer window, which also saw the arrival of their new head coach, Vincenzo Montella, and the sporting director at the club, Daniele Prade. Fiorentina had made their intentions clear at the start
of the season with all the acquisitions, and it was a case about matching expectations with their performances on the field of play.
There was probably greater hype surrounding the arrival of Zdenek Zeman at AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 than the work being done at the Artemio Franchi club, and the Giallorossi have (so far) failed miserably to replicate such form to justify the expectations developed. In comparison,
it seems like Montella has turned on to become a magician, as he has consistently improved the style of play at every club he has been a part of.
This has really impressed the director at the club, Prade, who has gone on to state his enthusiasm at defeating the Rossoneri outfit on their home turf. He remarked that they would continue to get better and while reflecting on the match played on Sunday,
he commented that Fiorentina played like they were the home side, and was quoted to have said:
“We are really satisfied. We played as if we were Milan at the San Siro. We are keeping an eye on the League table which looks to be split into two. There is the top five and then there is another competition between the rest. We just need to keep our feet
on the ground because we like to remain realists.”
The association of Prade and Montella stretches back to the playing days of Montella.
