it was my biggest goal to get into journalsem this up coming year. (ill be in 8th grade) so i wrote my application and my news story which was about how people dont accept there bodies. I worked on it for a week perfecting it and everything possible. Im an all A student with Satisfactory conduct. But i didnt get accepted i almost cried in the middle of class it was one of my biggest goals! Alot of my friends got accepted they are all A students and they have Outstanding for there conduct. Would my conduct have to do anything with me not getting in? And how can i get over it it was really one of my biggest goals

  1. the people who didnt accept u are the losers.Just keep tryin and mby u'll get accepted 2 another group.

  2. Try having your Mom call the counselors and see if there is any way you can get in.  If not, have your mother ask what you can do to bring your conduct up to Excellent.  Be careful with the conduct issue.  Teachers try to avoid students who misbehave in class.  But also don't be a submissive idiot.

And work on your grammar and spelling; it is pretty bad.

    journalsem

    Im (no apostrophy)

    dont (no apostrophy)

    didnt (no apostrophy)

there (instead of their, error done twice)

it (no period after it at the end of a sentence)

it (Not capitalized at the beginning of a new sentence)

Seven grammar or spelling errors in one paragraph?!

  3. Your conduct could very well have something to do with it as could your spelling and grammar (but perhaps you just were keying too fast here).  Being on the school paper allows you to go places where students may normally not be allowed and also can require you to be out of your normal class at times.  Someone who doesn't have the very best conduct may take advantage of those situations.

As to how do you get over it - you simply set a new goal for yourself.  Perhaps you can set the goal to learn everything you can about writing for a newspaper, and then try to get into your high school journalism class.

You might also go back to the whomever made the decision and ask what you might do to improve your chances of making it next time.  Treat this as a learning experience.  And Good Luck.  Journalism in school is a fun experience.
