Dynamo Moscow midfielder, Igor Semshov, has lamented his sides worst start to the Russian Premier League campaign in a decade, saying that they will find it difficult to finish among the top-five teams in the Russian championship
this season.
Semshov urged his teammates to work harder, telling them that they need to do a lot of hard work if they are to help the Moscow-based club in climbing up the league table.
As things stands, the White-Blues are at the 10th spot on the league table with 18 points and trail the top-spot by similar set of points.
Though the Musora have altered the situation by winning 5 of their last 7 league outings after having a nightmare start to the season, they are not looking the same force that used to terrorize the opposing teams under Sergei Silkin.
But now that Silkin has been replaced by Dan Petrescu, who left Kuban Krasnodar before joining the White-Blues, Semshov believes that it will take time before the Romanian tactician will settle things at Moscow.
“Hands on heart, I confess that it will be hard to get into the top-five. There will be a lot of games to be played until the end of the season and though we have corrected the situation somehow, it will be hard for us to catch
other teams in the long run. We need to be more ruthless in-front of the goal after losing enough points already.”
“We now have to play matches against our direct competitors. So, we need to work harder. I think just because we got a new manager, the situation will not correct itself dramatically.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
The former Zenit St. Petersburg central midfielder urged his side to give everything in order to get out of the situation and try to play in the second round of the Russian championship at a much higher level.
