Southampton’s offer for the PSV Eindhoven attacker has been rejected by the club, and his agent Sigi Lens insists that only an extremely good offer will lure the winger away from Philips Stadion this summer.
Reports in Dutch media confirm that PSV Eindhoven have rejected Southampton’s initial offer for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeremain-Lens-c18323.
The Saints, who earned promotion last term to compete in the English Premier League, are on the lookout to bring new players in their squad before the 2012/13 season kicks-off, and the 24-year-old is said to be one of their primary
targets this summer.
The newly promoted English Premier League side reportedly tabled a bid to acquire the Dutch international’s services on Thursday, July 19. However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcel-c23507 Brands, has turned down the offer, and has made
it clear that the club wants to keep the talented forward at Philips Stadion.
Sigi Lens, the Dutch attacker’s agent, has revealed that his client is satisfied while playing for the Eindhoven giants. However, he has insisted that an extremely good offer could tempt his client to leave his current club for
greener pastures.
“I believe that every player with ambition has to be open to interest, provided it is good for his career. He ended last season well with PSV and is happy, and he is in contention for the Dutch national side so it would need to
be a very good offer”, Lens was quoted as saying to Eindhoven Dagblad.
The Dutch winger, who arrived at Philips Stadion in the summer of 2010 after representing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar in over 50 Eredivisie matches, has thus far played 66 league games while donning the jersey of PSV, netting 19 goals and setting
up plenty more along the way.
His consistent performances have garnered him interest from a host of European clubs, who are keen to acquire his services before the ongoing summer transfer window slams shut.
Although, the PSV management have expressed reluctance to sell their winger, who has a contract until the summer of 2015 at Philips Stadion, reports indicate that an offer in the region of eight million Euros would be enough to
tempt the club in letting go of the attacker.
