  1. i carnt see hatton ever beating mayweathers, mayweathers is to technical for him, with his moves, footwork, countering, everything. hatton tryed his hardest in there last fight. add to the fact hatton now knows mayweathers can ko him, so he will have doubt in his mind where as before he was super confident.

  2. The injustice would be to Ricky not the sport of boxing. Hatton, with all due respect, was outclassed! Everytime he had Floyd in the corner and Floyd turned his back I was waiting for Ricky to do some serious Body work! But that never materialized! It seemed Ricky just wanted to push Floyd around and pitty-pat him. IMO, it seemed that he didn't throw any punches with conviction. It was almost as if he had no power or was to slow either way it was a loss. The injustice your speaking of is why hasn't Floyd fought the top welters in the division ?

  3. Only if they fought for one of Hattons belts... AFTER mayweather beats cotto

  4. Frank S: I believe in the rules of boxing you can't hit your opponent when their back is turned. That's one of may Mayweather's sneaky tactics. That and ducking below the belt...oh and elbows. If an opponent does that too much in a fight they usually get a warning from the ref.

I'd prefer to see Mayweather fight Cotto before Hatton, I think that would be a real fight, if ever Mayweather has the b@lls to agree to fight Cotto.

I think if Mayweather came down to the 140lb range, Hatton has a better chance and if Joe Cortez was NOT refereeing the match!

  5. The manor that Hattton lost in doesn't scream rematch. Most of the time in boxing when the fans want a rematch it was because of a controversial decision or knock down drag em out brawl. That fight might be huge in the UK where the vast majority of his fans are the ones that were his real fans and havent lost faith in him. That's the only place i could see that fight being successful in Americans wernt  sold on Ricky Hatton to begin with and then he gets destroyed by Mayweather didn't make it any better Cotto cares more weight than Hatton right now not the case three years ago when this fight was really gaining momentum.

  6. Hatton had NO BUSINESS being in the same ring with Mayweather. He may be the 140 lb champ, but at 147 he just lost too much. It was a money fight and thats it! Hatton probably could not beat anybody in the top 5 at 147 lbs!!

at 140 lbs he is a great fighter, at 147 lbs he becomes average.

  7. I cannot agree that it would be an injustice if Ricky Hatton never fought Floyd Mayweather again.

Ricky performed out of his skin that night against one of the more gifted of current fighters, who was also the heavier man. I hope that, in time, Ricky's achievements in that fight are measured against the brilliance of Mayweather's career. Before the fight, a friend who likes a bet but only has a fleeting knowledge of boxing, asked me for my advice. I remember saying that Mayweather is so gifted with super-fast reflexes that he could be standing on an opponents toes and they still wouldn't hit him with a bag of rice. I said that, if Ricky Hatton gets to the twelfth round, he will have done extremely well. He did do extremely well but if they fought again, he would be stopped earlier. If they fought ten times, Mayweather would win them all because he is bigger and has greater physical attributes than Ricky.

Mind you, Ricky would win the "Who Would You Rather Have A Beer With?" title a million times if Mayweather was up against him.

Finally, Ricky is a professional boxer with a tight unit around him, all of whom care for him. They will have done a risk assessment of fighting Mayweather and balanced it against the potential reward. With hindsight, it was worth it. Thank goodness, neither of them were hurt in the fight and Ricky has achieved his stated ambition for many years - financial security for his son and family. Good luck to him, but no more welterweights, it would be a tragedy if he got hurt tackling these bigger men, the best fighters in the world.

  8. rematch would be pointless...besides mayweather is boring to watch anyways...

  9. The only re-match worth watching is if it is at 140. Everyone knows that Hatton is no good at 147.

  10. The answer is the contrary to your question as if it were a regular statement. Hatton vs mayweather rematch would be a complete joke. Mayweather would win 100 times over against that guy. If there is a fighter out there who can beat mayweather it might be whoever hes fighting this december if I remember right....or I could be wrong....wait he is supposedly having a rematch with Delahoya.....Well theres another mayweather victory....mayweather needs to fight the top undefeated guy in his weight class.....then we will know mayweather is still the best there is.....and I have a feeling thats the case today!

  11. As much as I love hatton, I don't think he will win a rematch... after seeing how ineffective he was against mayweather, i can just see that this will be a fight hatton will surely lose... there are more fighters in the welterweight division who deserves a shot... ex. cotto, margarito...

these two will surely give mayweather the loss

  12. i hated that seris.

my 2 fave fighters fighting each other.

but you gotta admit it, hatton cant beat that man. floyd cant be beaten, its in his DNA.

  13. I don't see much point as Hatton can't possibly beat Matweather.  Mayweather doesn't have to fight anymore - he's got nothing left to prove.  But there are plenty of other fights out there for Hatton - he's still got so much more to offer to boxing.

  14. no it would not. Ricky isn't good enough to beat mayweather. it would be an injustice to Ricky Hatton to let him get knocked out again

  15. i totally agree i would relly like to see hatton come away with a win over mayweather or another amoazing fight if nothing else

  16. I personally would'nt mind seeing this fight again. Wembley has been thrown about as a venue. Not really ideal but wouldnt be the worst choice.
