It would be difficult for anyone to break Tendulkar’s records: Richards
The longevity of Sachin Tendulkar’s magnificent career backed by his glorious achievements make him an exceptional cricketer, in the words of legendary swashbuckler of the ball Sir Vivian Richards himself. Sir Vivian said that he believes the records set
by Sachin Tendulkar will be hard to compete with by any modern cricketer. According to Sir Richards, the dedication with which the little maestro has played over the years has ensured his survival in the world of cricket for a very long time. He said, he would
not be surprised if Tendulkar passes the 50 centuries mark soon.
"He can certainly achieve that (scoring 50 Test centuries). I think the way the games are going at present, it would be very difficult for anyone to break that record. He is way ahead of others. I can't see any individual, the closest guy who would come
to that may be Ricky (Ponting). But the way things are going on in Australia, they are calling for his head, so I don't know really know how long he will be around. He is the only individual I think who could be close to Sachin's record. But I think it would
be hard to surpass,” said Sir Vivian Richards.
Sir Vivian had earlier stated during a ceremony for the World Cup 2011 that India were clear favourites to win the cup and he was accompanied by the likes of Imran Khan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Arjuna-Ranatunga-c45447 and others. He has also sung praise for the Indian batsman
Virendar Sehwag, however insists that the Indian batsman has his own batting style therefore it would not be correct to liken Sehwag to himself. However he did say that Sehwag is fearless against the bowlers just as he was fearless against fast bowlers back
in the day.
With the way http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. Where the Indian reserve team managed to defeat the Kiwi’s, shows the reserve strength of the Indians which Sir Vivian stated is as good
as any.
When Sir Vivian was asked to pick out the best captain in the world, Sir Vivian picked out http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 and Andrew Strauss as the best captains. "I think Strauss is looking pretty good. I think Dhoni would have done his bit taking his team to where they are
at the number one position in the world. These are some of the guys who have been attractive as far as captaincy is concerned," exclaimed Sir Richards.
When asked about the Australian team Sir Richards said that the decline of the Aussies can be attributed to the retirement of senior players like Shane Warne, Glenn Mcgrath and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Gilchrist-c918. He said that this usually happens with all teams who have enjoyed
some time at the top for a long time. What is happening with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 now happens with all teams who come out of that phase where their senior players have retired, which explains why many teams are now having a go at them.
