against Arsenal.

However, Arsenal’s impact substitute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873, was fouled inside the 6-yard-box by Ben Park and the Gunners were awarded the golden chance to equalise the score. The young skipper of Arsenal, Cesc Fabregas stepped up to get take the penalty, and the
young Spanish midfielder efficiently placed the ball in the middle of the goal.
While commenting about the game, Arsenal manager admitted that it was a very difficult game for his team as the opposition were up for it and played the game brilliantly.
“It was the kind of game where you felt that it was important not to go 1-0 down. When we were 1-0 down, I felt that Wojciech [Szczesny] kept us in the game with a good save from [Luciano] Becchio's header. We looked like we would come back, but we were
short of time and it was important to keep the momentum and not to go out today because that would have been a shocker."
Arsenal dominated the home game against Leeds United with more time on the ball, however, the Gunners failed to capitalize on the chances. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771 missed a one on one chance with the keeper in the 11th after being played through by Thomas
Rosicky. Even after the late equaliser, Arsene Wenger’s men had three more chances to book their place to the next round but none was taken.
Moreover, Wenger admitted that his team missed many opportunities that could have won the game but the Frenchman insists he is happy that Arsenal is still in the competition, hoping that the Gunners will come up with an improved show in the next match against
Leeds.
"They did very well, very aggressive but in a good way, not a negative way, they closed us down everywhere and we had problems to pass through their lines. They were dangerous as well and it was important for us not to give a goal away, but we did. Leeds
were well organised, they were quickly on us and maybe our game was not quick enough to get out of their pressure."
