Italian Andrea Cassara wins Cuba World Cup in Men's Foil: Fencing News
The Italian fencers are advancing towards the 2012 London Olympics Qualifiers. Italian Andrea Cassara won another gold medal in Men’s Foil category in Cuba World Cup today, on June 19, at Havana.
With the gold medal victory, Cassara has completed the hat-trick of getting gold medals. He has already taken gold medal victories during Cuba World Cup in 2004 and 2010. Moreover, Cassara took individual bronze and team gold at the 2003 World Cup.
The Blue, Cassara, proved his victory chain by winning the final stage of Cuba World Cup against Ukrainian Rostislav Hertsyk. The gold medal victory also made him win the second victory of the season and the nineteenth of his career.
Cassara gave his first comments after the victory, "It's always nice to win Cuba brings me well, because I won a lot here. This success makes me very happy and, above all, I think it increases my advantage in the World Cup."
