AIC head Damiano Tommasi insists that the idea of rescheduling the Serie A season is under work and will not be discussed anytime soon.
Head of the Italian Players’ Association (AIC), http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Damiano-Tommasi-c9800, has refuted the idea that they discussed any solutions on rescheduling the Serie A to avoid the winter break.
The tough winter this season disrupted the Serie A fixtures schedule for many teams, and since that time a debate has emerged on the ideas to avoid the cold weather and snow from disrupting the season.
The AIC’s board concluded the final day of the meetings, but the chief revealed that there has been no talks on the topic, and the problem is still hanging in the air. Tommasi indicated that there has been no progress on the matter,
and the idea is being put on hold for the time being so that it could be discussed more extensively later on. The chief abstained from making absurd comments about the matter, and stated that those who want such material can read the discussions in the newspapers.
While talking to the media, the AIC chief said:
“We have not yet spoken about the calendar because the idea is still to wait for the Lega Calcio, with whom we will meet with soon. That will probably be the time to get the necessary elements together to form a better idea.”
Damiano Tommasi insisted that there are a couple of solutions in his mind, and they could make their way in the next meeting on the topic. The head insisted that the criticism is understandable as it is inevitable for any solution
to make everybody happy. The executive hinted that starting the league in august could be a possible solution.
“The League could begin even before August. It may not be the solution to all problems, but it can be a solution. Although we understand that there are parties who are not particularly enthusiastic to follow this route.”

the players should be reduced to more acceptable levels.
